Trill 2020 - 2025

Trill, Trilly Trill

Sometimes a cat needs nine lives and then a few more. When a young cat with neurologic problems and megacolon came in, the team at the 9 Lives Foundation in California knew they had to give her a chance. In loving foster care Trill began medications for megacolon, but because she suffered from bladder and bowel leaks the team struggled to find the right home for her. They knew there had to be a place where Trill could truly belong just as she is and they were determined to care for Trill till they could find that place.

It took time, in fact it was several years before the 9 Lives Foundation learned of the perfect place for Trill - Copper’s Cat Commune. Meanwhile, the Commune had been housing several friendly cats with FIV, and while they were perfectly adoptable they had struggled to find homes in Texas. So with a little planning and a lot of love two cats from Texas boarded planes to California and in short order found forever homes, and two leaky cats, Trill and her friend Lady Gaga found their place at the Commune where they fit in just right. Trill was leaky - but that's our specialty, she needed medications - but that’s common here, and with her silly high-stepping walk and little turned out ballerina front feet she fit right in at the Commune surrounded by her scooting, wobbly, silly-stepping pals.

One morning in 2025 Trill was found in distress, she was immediately taken to the vet where emergency medical care revealed acute kidney failure. Despite intervention Trill’s kidney function did not improve and we had to say goodbye.
