Lupin, Poopin’ Lupin

Lupin was surrendered to Rosenberg Animal Shelter after being found outside dragging his back end - a pellet lodged in his spine. Unsure of humans at first he learned to love pets and a full belly despite daily bladder and bowel expressions. The shelter staff reached out to Copper’s Cat Commune and Lupin found his soft landing. One of the OGs of the Soggy Bottom Squad he quickly earned the affectionate nickname “Poopin’ Loopin” on account of his bowel incontinence.

Eventually Lupin healed enough to no longer require daily expression, but his lack of bowel control meant he still required some extra clean up and daily medication for pain management. In 2025 Lupin required surgery to remove an injured portion of his paralyzed tail. While the surgery went well, paralysis carries increased risk of complications. Unfortunately, Lupin passed unexpectedly several days after surgery, likely due to a blood clot. His sweet personality has been sorely missed at the Commune.
