Atticus

Atticus came to us through the clinic where a client who was doing TNR had caught him.  He had a severe limp in his right front leg and had already bitten a foster caregiver pretty severely.  This client did not have the funds to pursue treatment so we took him in.  Radiographs showed a major trauma to his right shoulder that had healed horribly.  The only way to get him pain free was to amputate.  We raised the money in record time thanks to Shadow Cats and took him home a few days after surgery.  Atticus had some biting behaviors that likely developed due to the amount of pain he was in. Removing his leg helped reduce his biting behaviors, but because of his biting remained at the Commune as a permanent resident.  He went from a scruffy-looking alley cat to a stunning long haired fluff ball, who we just adored! Atticus passed away unexpectedly this winter. He is remembered fondly by us and his sponsors Jon & Julia.
